Hipswell: St John the Evangelist

Hipswell Road Catterick Garrison Richmond

Hipswell Parish covers the town of Colburn, and the villages of Hipswell and Scotton - surrounding Catterick Garrison on three sides - and includes a population of some 17,000 people. There are two church buildings: the fine Regency-period Parish Church of St John the Evangelist, Hipswell, and a lovely 1950s copper-roofed estate church, St Cuthbert's, Colburn.

St John's aims to be a loving, welcoming church, open to the wider community, and confident in Jesus' love and presence. We are actively involved in supporting Hipswell CE Primary School (where the Vicar and Reader serve as Foundation Governors) and in Risedale Sports and Community College. Sunday services at St John's generally take place at 11am each week.

Full details of both churches, including a calendar of events, contact details for the Vicar and Churchwardens, along with church facts and history, can be found on our website - www.hipswellparish.org.uk
